King Prawns in mustard, cumin and basaar by Shai Ayoub

Ingredients

1/4 cup cooking oil

500g King Prawns

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 large onion finely sliced

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder

Salt to taste

2 to 3 tsp basaar mix

200 ml tomato passata

1 cup water

2-3 green chillies sliced

Fresh coriander for garnish



Method


1. Heat the oil in a pan

2. When hot add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let sizzle.

3. Add the onion and fry until lightly golden

4. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook one minute.

5. Add the spices and green chillies stir 30 seconds

6. Add the tomatoes and cook 5-7 minutes

7. Add the prawns and stir at this stage you can also add 1 cup of water stir, cover and cook 10 minutes.

8. Garnish with fresh coriander
