My mums homemade Pakistani Basaar have used traditional spices and herbs to produce an aromatic Bassar Curry Masala. This curry masala is widely used in Asian communities around the world, especially Kashmir and Pakistan. You can use this Bassar Curry Masala in the preparation of various curries. It is a complete mixture which only requires the addition of salt according to individual taste. Mum has been making this Basaar mix for 20+ years.
The ingredients are: Chilli Powder, Ground Coriander, Ground Turmeric, Mustard Oil, Fenugreek Leaves, Ground Cumin, Bay Leaves, Mustard Seeds, Ground Cardamom, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Black Pepper, Ground Cloves, Ground Fenugreek and Ground Nutmeg.
It should only be consumed after heating to at least 65°C or 150°F due to the Mustard Oil.
