Pakistani Chicken Karahi

Pakistani Chicken Karhai


To make curry

500 g chicken on the bone or boneless

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

1 large onion sliced

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

2 tomatoes chopped

1 tsp tomato purée

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp chilli powder

Salt to taste

1 tbsp coriander powder / cumin powder

2 tbsp plain yogurt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garam Masala

200 ml water

For garnish

1 to 2 bullet chillies or birds eye chillies

Slivers of ginger

Fresh coriander


1. Heat oil In a pan.

2. Fry sliced onions fry a few minutes.

3. Add ginger garlic paste and fry about 5 minutes more.

4. Add the tomatoes and let cook until jammy consistency.

5. Add the chicken cook 5 to 10 minutes.

6. Add the turmeric chilli powder salt and coriander cumin powder mix well.

7. Add the water cover and Cook 10 15 minutes.

8. Add the plain yoghurt and stir.

9. Add the cracked pepper and garam Masala

Cook5 minutes

Add the garnish
