Chicken Karahi By Andrew Candler

Chicken Karahi

Ingredients :-

1) Chicken 1kg

2) Vegetable oil half a cup

3) Garlic/Ginger paste 2tbsp

4) 6 Large tomatoes or 1 tin chopped tomatoes

5) Kashmiri Chilli Powder 1.5 tbsp

6) Turmeric 1tsp

7) Natural yogurt 1 cup

8) Garam Masala half a tspoon

9) Green Chilli's 5

10) fresh chopped coriander

11) fine chopped ginger

12) half a onion chopped into chunks

13) 1 chopped green pepper.

14) karahi Masala

15) Salt 1 tsp


Heat oil and add ginger/garlic, add tomatoes and cook well until broken down.

Add Chicken and salt.

Cook for 10 min on medium heat then add chilli powder and turmeric. Stir well and cover, cook for a further 10 min.

Add yogurt and add Karahi powder. Cook for a further 5 min. Add green chilli's and finely chopped ginger and chunks of onions. Cook a little check chicken cooked.. add green peppers leave it to simmer. When cooked add half tsp garam masala and add fresh coriander For garnish. Enjoy with chapatt or rice.
