Chicken Jalfrezi. Home Cook Style.
Chop 4 medium onions or 2 large onions and slice some peppers.
Chop 3 tomatoes.
In a blender add half of the chopped onions with a chunk of ginger peeled along with 4 garlic cloves. Add a splash or two of water and blend to a paste.
Prepare 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp chilli powder and 1tbsp coriander powdered. Set aside.
In a pan add some oil until hot then add the remaining onions and soften.
Add the blended paste and cook slowly for 20 mins stirring occasionally.
Add the powdered spices.
Then add 500g of chicken pieces. On or off the bone.
Add the tomatoes then Mix it up over a high heat then turn the heat down. Leave for 15 minutes occasionally stirring.
Add the sliced peppers and just enough water to cover the ingredients.
Simmer on a medium heat for 40 mins or until chicken is cooked.
Add salt to taste.
Serve with a sprinkling of coriander leaves and sliced green chillies on top as garnish.
