Makhani Kofta By James Angus

My Makhani Kofta

You can make them yourself. For this I used mince from the Asian butchers, so it’s halal. Fresh or frozen meatballs will work just as well 😊

For the sauce:

2 cans of chopped tomatoes

Garam masala

Ground cumin

2 tbs of butter

I tub of heavy (double) cream

1 tb of garlic and ginger paste

1 1/2 cups of stock (chicken preferably but beef will work too)

1tsp turmeric

Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

cook the meatballs in the oven until they’re browning. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Frying pan with the oil you choose, I use olive oil. Add the spices and fry for a minute. Add the tomatoes and cover for five minutes. Add the stock, the heavy cream and the butter. Mix, and cover again for five minutes. Add the meatballs, simmer for ten minutes. Serve and add garnish of your choice.

Beautiful, and takes about half an hour.
