Lamb Karhai


1kg lamb

2 onions

3 tomatoes

1 tbsp red chilli powder

1 tbsp salt

1 tsp turmeric

1 tbsp garam masala

1 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp coriander powder

1 tbsp ginger chopped

2 tbsp garlic paste

4 green chillies cut in half lengthways

2 tbsp plain yoghurt

Fresh Coriander for garnish

Oil about 1/2 a cup


1. Heat oil in a pan.

2. Add the meat.

3. Add the onions sliced.

4. Add the tomatoes ginger and garlic.

5. Cover and let cool on medium to high heat its water will release itself. Cook 10 minutes or so.

6. Add turmeric red chilli powder salt garam masala and coriander powder and black pepper. Continue to cook add about 100 ml water if like. Continue to cook on medium to high another 20 minutes or so

7. Turn down heat to low add the yoghurt and green chillies cut in half length ways and de-seed if prefer cook for an hour or so or until meat cooked

Garnish with fresh coriander
